Oilfield Instrumentation (OI) has completed the fourth and largest in a series of custom, certified offshore buildings for deep water drillships, this one custom built for the drillship Thalassa. Like its counterparts, the 10′ x 40′ multi-service unit is certified to meet DNV 2.7-1 and 2.7-2, Zone 2, and A-60 certification standards, but boasts more work stations and monitors than the others.
With 33 monitors and seating for 10, the offshore cabin will house mud logging and MWD activities and has a data control room for computer equipment and technology. The unit features stainless counter tops and ventilation hood in mud lab area for safe testing. Combining multiple services into one unit maximizes rig space and reduces costly interruptions, as only a single loading and power-up is required.
Oilfield Instrumentation and its sister company Advanced Building Services, offer in-house engineering, manufacturing, and trucking to provide safe, efficient and turnkey custom onshore and offshore buildings for the oil and gas industry.
