Oilfield Instrumentation (OI) recently delivered this custom, certified offshore building, one of a series in development for deep water drillships. The 10′ x 30′ offshore buildings are built according to OI’s “Project 30” style, with sleek, high quality countertops and appointments, and stainless steel cabinets. They meet the standards for DNV 2.7-1 and 2.7-2, Zone 2, and A-60 certifications.
Two of the buildings have already been deployed on drillships Proteus and Pontus and more are in progress, including a 40′ version to host a larger crew.
The units include space for MWD and mud logging activities and a data control room for supporting computer equipment and technology. Hosting all disciplines in one building maximizes the use of space on the rigs and requires only one loading and power-up, thereby minimizing costly interrruptions.
Having in-house manufacturing through its sister company (Advanced Building Services), Oilfield Instrumentation is able to offer complete customization from size and certification to cabinet layout. Due to its in-house trucking fleet and location on the Mississippi River, OI can then ship or deliver any certified offshore buildings almost anywhere in the world.
